
We are a group of City professional employees who seek to form a union with our other non-represented colleagues. The purpose, simply stated: To have the protection of a union contract and the democracy in the workplace that a union represents.
Those who believe HR is on their side and can serve their needs when problems arise at work are fooling themselves. HR departments exist to protect the organization — not employees. Only when your interests are aligned with the organization’s interests or when protecting you is a way to avoid a lawsuit will HR protect you. Absent those rare instances, the only protection available is through membership in a union under the protection of a negotiated contract.
